For the Transit-Dependent Student

Getting around the Texas State campus and the City of San Marcos by bicycle is economical and eco-friendly. For a one-time membership fee, International students can apply to rent a bike from Cavers' Bike Rental, sponsored by The Bike Cave, for the entire semester. Our rental fleet consists of reused bicycles from The Bike Cave; a bike lock comes with every bike rented. This program is available on a first-come first-serve basis, although we will do our best to accommodate all International students who apply. Our bikes are recycled bikes that get donated to us by the San Marcos and Texas State University community in various states of disrepair. Our volunteers and staff then restore them and fix them up so that they can be ridden once again. For any further question email us at thebikecave@yahoo.com

Step 1: Apply online for the International Students Cavers’ Bike Rental Program.
Step 2: You will receive an email with a time and date along with detailed instructions.
Step 3: Come to your appointment where you will be fitted for a bike, bring cash or check and your student ID to sign up for the rental membership, receive detailed rules about the program, and sign our checkout liability form.
Step 4: Ride!
Step 5: Come to your scheduled bike check out appointment at the end of the semester.
